Free water saving ideas -
Don't leave the tap running when you are brushing your teeth
Use the half flush in the loo (can save upto 5 litres per flush)
Do full loads of washing in the laundry, select the correct water level
Take a "Power Shower", every minute less can save a bucket of water
Turn off your taps and water-using appliances, eg washing machine, dishwasher
Don't use the toilet as a waste bin, this saves water and prevents possible blockages
Check regularly for leaks and get dripping taps repaired pronto
Ration garden watering, use a hose with a trigger or watering can
Use a bucket to wash the car

Leaking taps and toilets:
A tap that drips once every second can waste 1,000 litres of wter a year.
A leaking or overflowing toilet cistern can waste as much as 15,000 litres of water a year. This is an easy fix by replacing the washer or flushing valve. A leaking cistern is not always obvious. You can check by putting a few drops of food colouring into the cistern and watching to see if coloured water enters the toilet bowl.
